4 SEASONS FESTIVAL
The 4 Seasons Festival is a classical music festival that promotes young musicians from the region through 4 concerts per year, entirely free for the public. The festival has had many successful years in a local house, then at the Lausanne Opera House and has allowed a dozen young talents to practice their passion.
The 4 seasons festival is a unique platform for young musicians wishing to begin or perfect their experience as concert performers.
This year (2022), the festival will take place in the Paderewski hall of the Casino de Montbenon in Lausanne, under the theme of musical travel. Hungary, Brazil, the United States and Denmark will be honored.
1. THE CLASSICAL MUSIC OF THE USA – February 26, 2022
The first concert with American colors will be mainly marked by compositions from the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century with composers such as Di Lorenzo, Reich or Adams. A beautiful musical discovery also awaits us with duets for violin and piano by Amy Beach, a composer from the late 19th century.

2. CLASSICAL MUSIC IN DENMARK – May 28, 2022
The second leg of the musical journey will take you to Denmark, the birthplace of the romantic composer Carl Nielsen. His clarinet concerto is one of his best known works and will be performed in its entirety in this second concert. To complete the program, there will be various pieces for solo piano – an instrument for which the Danes wrote a lot – as well as romantic duets for cello and piano.

3. CLASSICAL MUSIC IN HUNGARY – September 3, 2022
The great concert of the year will be dedicated to Hungarian composers. To celebrate its 8th anniversary, the 4 Seasons Festival is founding its own orchestra with more than 40 musicians to propose a program around three composers who had a great musical influence in their country. After Bartók’s Romanian dances, Aurore Grosclaude will perform Liszt’s first piano concerto, which will then be followed by Kodály’s Galanta dances for orchestra.

4. CLASSICAL MUSIC FROM BRAZIL – October 29, 2022
Brazil will close this classical world music event with the rhythms of samba and catchy melodies. With several arrangements of well-known popular songs, the musicians will make you dance with compositions by Villa-Lobos, Jobim or Nazareth. A string trio will propose a more “classical” piece, showing another facet of Brazilian music.
